  • Aldermen serve a four year term to represent the residents of a district or area of the city known as a ward.

  • City councilman ensure execution and completion of city's goals, major projects and infrastructure improvements ranging from community growth to land use to finances and strategic planning.

  • Nominated by petition of the voters of each ward, elections are held on the last Tuesday in February in the year preceding the presidential election.
